Have you ever created a new user in WordPress and then wanted to assign 50-100 posts to their name because they may have written these posts, but didn't have an account at the time?
We felt the same way, which is why we're now going to show you how you can easily assign multiple posts to a new author in WordPress. The solution is called "Quick Edit."
1. Go to “All posts”
On the left side, select "Posts" from the menu and then "All Posts."

2. Change number of posts
If you have more than 20 posts, select "Customize view" at the top right. Here you can increase the number of posts per page. If you don't know how many posts you have, this number is shown at the bottom right of the page. Click "Apply" to save your settings and the page will now load with the number of posts you specified.
Please note that depending on the number of posts, the page may take longer to load and may even fail completely due to poor WordPress hosting.
Once you have all the posts at a glance, use the checkbox to select the posts that should be assigned to a new author.
3. Open Quick Edit
Instead of opening the "Quick Edit" menu for each post individually, you can now select Edit from the Multiple Actions menu at the top. Clicking Apply opens the Quick Edit menu for all selected posts.

4. Select the new author
On the right-hand side, you will find the Authors section. Select your new author here. Click Update to save your selection.

As you have probably noticed, the Quick Edit menu not only allows you to define new authors for multiple posts, but also to adjust the categories, tags, or status of the posts. The filter options also allow you to check in advance whether the list of posts has already been narrowed down and is no longer as extensive.
